Let There Be Light

Taken in Antelope Canyon in northern Arizona. Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon that gives wonderful abstract images. © Pat Goltz Thank you for your comments. I greatly appreciate them!

certainly this the most awesome shot I have seen of a cavern...the balance of color and light flooding the ground is AWESOME! I too live in Tucson... great subjects all around tho a bit toasty these days..

Terence Brockett 24 Jun 2005

WOW, this could have been in one of the Indiana Jones movies, this is awesome

Awe-inspiring image. Convey great beauty and yet the history of the world by the smoothness of the interior worn away over the eons by water when this was perhaps a great river like the grand canyon.

Artist Reply: Thank you for the fine comment. However, this canyon is fairly small, and could easily have been carved in a few decades. The Colorado River which winds through the Grand Canyon is NOT responsible for the existence of the canyon. It simply isn't large enough to have done what happened there. In any case, we are talking about an order of magnitude difference in scale.
