Hedgehog

The flesh of the hedgehog cactus is edible, and has a very nice mild flavor. Do not eat in the winter; it will cool you off. This cactus is rare, so please preserve it and plant the seeds. The fruit is tiny, and tastes a little like strawberries. These spectacularly colored flowers were on a plant belonging to a neighbor. © Pat Goltz Thank you for your comments. I greatly appreciate them!
