This is a portrait of Tracy Emin, the British conceptual artist shortlisted for the Turner Prize (Organised by the Tate Modern Gallery in London UK ) She is famous for the conceptual presentation of her unmade bed surrounded with personal intimate articles (such as empty Tampax tubes) and a tent with the names of everyone she ever slept with inside it. She has also produced various quilts covered with slogans related to her life's experiences. Spelling is not her strong suite! Tracy is attractive and engaging. She shares her fame with other Brit artists like Damien Hirst (famous for his sheep and cows in aspic). They have both been rewarded with international fame and huge sums of money from their patron Charles Saatchi. However, disaster struck in May 2004 when the works of Tracey Emin (and Hirst) were lost in a blaze. They were being stored in a warehouse in London which set on fire. So it was goodbye to 'The unmade Bed' and 'Everyone I ever slept with' tent! Some people displayed delight when they learned about the destruction of the costly artworks of Tracy Emin and Damien Hirst! They had , after all viewed the unmade bed and the love tent with cynicism, 'Yes, but is it art?!' they had asked. Acrylic on canvas 18 x 24
