On a Clear Day You Can See Forever

I have a rather dramatic image I'm rendering, but I got the blue screen of death when it had a half slice to go. :( So I am rerendering. Instead, I give you one of my earlier images, when I first started experimenting with strata. The terrain is from Utah. This is not a photograph.
