This is a wonderful portrat of the Pope. The entire picture is suffused with the slight 'otherness' of the Renaissance period. The painting is real and surreal simultaneously. It really is a remarable image. Brilliant artwork!

I remember years ago when the Pope came to Glasgow and the whole town was buzzing. Thanks for showing him to be so humble and down to earth, you certainly captured the spirit of the man and I don't think he can ever be replaced - well we'll see. It's wonderful.

Yes, this was a remarkable man. The portrait you commented on in my portfolio was sent be ordinary mail to the Vatican. I received a lovely note and an Apostolic blessing from his Holiness. I think he realized that his Polish costume was a compliment about his origins, not a criticism.
