Where Did We Come From??

Not often can you look back and see where you started. On the far horizon, at the flat part, is the parking lot where this trail originates. We were a little over 3 mi. from there with the lake just up the hill a short distance away. My friend was amazed at how far 3 mi. looked when hiking thru the hills. The little bump in the flat spot is the top of Mt. Adams, another volcanic mountain in the Cascade Range of Washington. There are 4 of them, Mt. Adams, Mt. Baker, Mt. St. Helens (active since 1980), and of course, Mt. Rainier, the tallest of them all at 14,410 ft.

I love the colors. Is that Scurb Oak that is red? Have you been to the top of Mt. Ranier? Is it a walking trail or technical? I love the Cascades!
