Blizzard Lunch Spot

We decided to hunker down under this tree for lunch. There didn't seem to be just the right spot, but you gotta eat, right? Occasionally a gust of heavy wind would knock the snow from the tree above and we would get pelted. We didn't stay still very long, that's when you get cold. It's about 2 mi. from the car and all uphill from here. The second shot is of me taking a short break. Snowshoeing isn't as easy as it may seem...and there is less wind closer to the ground. I was actually very comfortable and needed help getting up out of 8 inches of powder snow.
