Sunset Tulip

Here is a companion work that goes with "Twilight Tulips". I wanted to work with different lighting at different times of the day. Took a while to figure out how to get what I wanted in both paintings. This is a digital painting , not a photo manipulation or auto paint effect result. It takes me hours to paint these even using a electronic drawing tablet, a Wacom & stylus wireless pen. I still have to draw it, pick the paint brushes, style ( mediums to mimic) colors, and blend the paints as I work. You can see the brush strokes * blending of colors in the close up better. I hope you like this one as much as the first. More tulips to come.

Artist Reply: Thank you Blue Doll! I'm learning more each time I work on a new piece. Each one eaches me how to do something different, a bit better, or spurs new ideas in my head.

Luminous!

Artist Reply: Thanks Stanley. I often ponder should I paint the flower or just use the photo? For what I wanted in this one, only a painting would do. I love blending colors like in this one to create the atmosphere of the composition.
