Daphne changing into a Laurel tree

This is a little departure for me. A friend told me to branch out (forgive the pun) and this is one I had stored in a corner because it was "weird". what do y'all think?

I think it's brilliant! And you know what they say: Never hide your light under a bushel... or in a corner! It would have been a shame if no one had ever seen this.

I agree... the background is stunning and doesn't distract from the portrait! BEAUTIFULLY done Linda~

Artist Reply: Thanks, again Olga!

This is stunning, I love the colors and composition, the subtle light on her face and you can almost tell what she is thinking as she barely breathes.

Artist Reply: Tammy - what an insightful way of viewing this. Thank you so much!

Weird is GOOD.

Artist Reply: Thanks, Dawn!

just amazing...the colour scheme and again...the beauty of the woman with the nature spirit. i love it.

Artist Reply: Thank you! I was once told by a snooty gallery owner that I had a horrible sense of color. So every time someone likes my colors, especially other artists, I feel vindicated! Thanks again!
