Sunrise Rim Trail

I can't tell you how wonderful it felt to be back in the mountains, face to face with Mt. Rainier again. This was our first trip to the Sunrise Visitor's Center for the year. Usually we are up here at least 5-6 times during the summer, but wedding planning was the priority this time. This trail is considered moderate to most, but we have been away from real hiking for so long, we found ourselves woefully out of shape. We did reach our planned destination at the top of 1st Burroughs Mt. and continued the loop...a total of 4.9 miles. This wonderful observation place is called Glacier Overlook...located 3000 ft. above the valley floor. You will see the reason for the name in my next photo....I just wanted you to enjoy the Mountain first on this glorious day!!! Thanks for visiting!!! We have a lot of catching up to do before the gates close..... :-)

Your magnificent mountain shots "bring me back there" time and again, Mary. Now that your daughter is married, how about doing that coffee-table book? You might title it, simply: Mary's Mountains...hmmmm?
