Eagle's Nest

A long time ago a man and his wife and a couple of kids moved up to Washington from Texas. They bought and ran the resort we stay at for over 30 years. The man promised his wife he would build her a big house someday for them to live when they retired. She chose the top of the tallest hill overlooking the lakes. He died about 5 years ago, she is in her mid-80's and still cooks breakfast at the restaurant 5 days a week. The resort is in the hands of one of the daughters and others in the family work the summer season. They are a wonderful family and a pleasure to visit as good friends. The first photo is the magnificent house on the hill as we come in to the docks from a day of fishing. Next posting...the view.... :-))
