The Valley Below

Our destination for the day is the Mowich River below. From here is seems like a very long ways away, but when you drop 1000 ft. in one mile, it happens pretty quickly. The terrain again changes back to thick, lush underbrush and giant old-growth trees, much like a rainforest. The trail isn't so dusty and signs of high water cut thru the forest. Often the bridges across the two forks of the Mowich River have to be replaced. Parts of the trail get washed out and rerouted. Such is the way of Nature, as it should be. We are the intruders....It's our sacred duty to preserve and understand HER as we enjoy HER blessings!!!
