The Emmons Moraine Trail has been lost to us for 5 years. In 2006 the massive rain storm wrecked havoc on Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park and destroyed many trails and campgrounds. Since then, there has been recovery in most places..nature won in others. This trail is to Glacier Basin and was replaced in 2010 on higher ground above the stream/river that raged 5 years earlier. The moraine trail had crossed the stream/river...I'm not sure when, but it was a delightful surprise to see it was there again. It's a great place to have lunch, if you can tear yourself away from the incredible scenery long enough to dig your sandwich out!!! Thanks so much for visiting....Enjoy the view!!
