Sooo, we do get sunny days once in a while....only 2-3 in a row before the rain shows up for a week. That's just the way spring is in the Pacific Northwest. We do love the green... :-) My brother and I took the day and made the most of it by driving to Crystal Mt. It felt so good to breathe the mountain air and know that hiking season is getting closer. This photo op is right on Hwy 410 and Skookum Falls is bursting with the snowmelt and spring rains. It will be a while before Chinook Pass will be open, even then the higher trails won't be accessible for a month after that. This is generally true for the north side of Mt. Rainier, the south side opens much sooner. It's always worth the wait!!!
