I went back to 2001 and found a small color gel pen drawing. I thought it might translate to acrylic and the square format well. The original is in my sub-gallery, 2001-2002. This is an acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. Image area is 12 by 12 inches. Chosen for inclusion in AVAA's '12BUY12' Christmas art show 2012 in Austin, TX. Original Jones Art. This piece has been SOLD.

Your vision is awesome and always well expressed!

Artist Reply: Thanks, Mark! I'd just joined, or re-joined, rather, the Austin Visual Arts Association that September and as they had the 12 by 12 inch size requirement for this show, I 'translated' the paper work to acrylic. Worked out pretty well. Hope you are doing great in these less than great times. :)

awesome

Artist Reply: If you look at the original this is based on in the Color Gels sub-gallery, you see there are the basic similarities but I did make the flower a bit more colorful and in a way dominant. Of course, the original is, as I recall, only around 2 inches square. :)

Nice concept Charles.

Artist Reply: Thanks, Sebastiaan. This one is currently hanging in a Christmas show. I hope someone gives it a good home. :)
