The drawing I based this on had a beak coming out to the left past the nose but i didn't think it looked good as sculpture so omitted. The rings at the end came in process and it was after painting those that the words 'ring-tailed tooter' came to me. It was something my grandfather used to say. He'd say, "That was a real ring-tailed tooter" which always meant to me that it was unusual or different. That title seems to work here. It stands approximately 8 inches tall. I'm using a more refined formula than I did with 'Red-Crested Bird." Ever notice how much I like hyphenated words? Original Jones Art? Well, if it isn't, I don't know what would be here in Austin, Texas.

Beautiful!

Artist Reply: He's almost pure compound with little else inside, Erik, so for his size he has some weight. Thanks for the 'beautiful' comment and I hope you are doing beautifully where you are. Guess you aren't so bothered by those pesky Germanic vacationers---good and bad, I suppose. Stay safe. :)

When I was a child there was an illustrated version of Alice In Wonderland and your sculpture reminds me of those very colorful illustrations.

I'm enjoying your sculptures, there a lot of fun!

Artist Reply: I've done sculptural/3D work only sporadically heretofore, John, but have decided to pull out a few more of these. An art teacher once told me my ideas would transition well from two dimensions to three. Maybe only the fourth will tell? I'm sure your new work is great. :)

Well I can't just say no... AW says it has to be 5 words..... so now it has been 5 and more NO!

Artist Reply: Well, Mark, I'm a little confused. "NO' to what exactly? Anyway, you commented so I guess that is 'something.' Hope you are doing well. :)
