I'll have to upload to the project pics the preliminary drawing for this piece. This is made of my special compound and I like it since it is durable, paint-able and dries at home and quickly, unlike clay that must be fired. The drawing didn't have a title---my quick drawings seldom do---so I toyed with several. 'This is not a lamp' was one possible choice. Also I thought 'Opposing Viewpoints' might work. But then I thought 'Non-Objective Object' might be the best choice as it plays with a whole genre of art and gives the viewer free rein. This object stands 13.25 inches tall and at its widest is around 5 inches. This MUST be more of that non-ignorant though totally ignorable Original Jones Art as it non-objectifies itself in Austin Texas.

Your choices for the title crack me up and what a interesting object it is, my friend! "Juxtaposition," strikes me...as another title. ;)

Artist Reply: Thanks, Mark! I think a good and or adequate title is better than no title at all. Though I readily admit choosing one can be a chore. I usually prefer one that's a little 'tongue-in-cheek' with or without the French connection. ;)

Interesting piece Charles; thank you for the drawings to give it more room for thoughts; nice! PS I'm painting at the moment cause I don't have the money to buy me the necessities for the CJ compound. Maybe somebody who wants to buy a real Vanderschee? Anyone?!

Artist Reply: The black and white drawing is the original and the color is the preliminary before i tackled the 3D. It is now in the running for the most colorful original non-objective object on the planet. Ha! Can't wait to see that new painting, Erik! :)
