I always thought the monolith in 2001 A Space Odyssey had no personality. Now, that might have been the author's and filmmaker's intent but doing this deceptively simple sculpture I wanted it to be almost figurative in nature with subtle hills and valleys.. I hope the photos will show that. And though it looks grey, I actually mixed the almost slate grey with lavender. It is made using my ever-evolving compound which is paper-based and stands 11.25 inches tall with a base that is 5.25 inches wide. If not Original Jones Art, I'm at a loss to give it another artist or city of origin.
