What does that old expression really mean? Cutting off the nose to spite the face. Makes one wonder who came up with it. Because, believe it or not, some person starts these things and the rest of us merely carry it forward. Sounds pretty self-destructive though. I actually drew the original of this along with a baker's dozen on a single sheet of 9 by 12 inch sketchpad. It was actually a year plus before I looked at the page again and this one jumped out. No, not 'literally.' So here's some of that intuitively self-revealing and hopefully not self-destructive Original Jones Art we've all come to love and ignore here in beautiful suburban northwest Austin, Texas. Damn. Is it hot or is it just me?
