This one goes back to late August of 1980. I'd moved into my little one-bedroom apt on Northloop Blvd in January and had picked up the brush seriously that same month. Before then, there'd only been the occasional color pencil and watercolor. Everything else was black ink. This piece measures 4 by 6.25 inches roughly and features some sweet folks plus several Flying Mysteries. Though this is obviously a drawing, if you look carefully, you'll see I tinted several elements with watercolor. It's subtle but it's there. Sort of like Original Jones Art as it nestles between 183 and IH35 here in Austin, Texas.
