Unlike my usually mode of operation, I just sketched onto the canvas with this piece with no prior idea. My son likes it. I think I have to look at it awhile. This is a 24 by 18 inches acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas and a hopefully progressive example of Original Jones Art as he sits hunched over in front of his aging PC in northwest Austin, Texas.

A superb piece of acrylic on canvas! The eyes have it,...set at 2p.m, and I love the shaded face. ...and I agree with your son,...I like the colors, the lines, the structure and content, my friend!! Masterfully done Charles!

Artist Reply: I'll tell you what it is about this piece and how it differs from my usual modus operandi. Usually I base a painting on a sketch I've done. Now, so you know, Mark, I do lots of sketches and many are not 'up to par' for a painting. This work began based on no sketch and is probably why I was a little unsure of it. I usually 'live' with a sketch for awhile before deciding yea or nay. I cut out the middle man here and so I'm having to 'live' with the painting now. The painting I'm currently working on is based on a sketch and I'm liking it better---though it differs from the sketch in subtle ways. Thanks for the nice comment and I hope this convoluted explanation helps. :)
