It's difficult to believe that Joyce's first novel by the same name is over a hundred years old. That makes it a true antique. I don't think that phrase meant much to me until recently. When I started this piece I was feeling a bit nostalgic and wondered where that young man went and what's to become of the older gentleman standing in for him. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil and color gel. It's a loose reinterpretation by Original Jones Art as he looks wistfully back in northwest Austin, Texas.

No pimples on your face, Charles my friend, but it's great to see both eyes looking at me!! ;) I love the colors, emphasis, form and unity in this young version of you, my Austin, TX, artist friend!!:) You and your family stay well. Please!!

Artist Reply: Well, I always had my Clearasil handy, Mark. Are they still selling that line, I wonder? Trying to stay busy here at the house with art and chores. I've been working on a 3D piece but rain has arrived and so I must divert my attention to other things. Thanks for the great comment and the best of everything to you and yours, my long distance buddy. :)

BEAUTIFUL...

Artist Reply: Thank you, Maria! I hope you are yours are doing great during this tumultuous time. Loved the butterfly piece, BTW. :)
