Schism is a split or division between strongly opposed sections or parties, caused by differences in opinion or belief. If that doesn't describe humanity, I don't know what does. Trouble is a lot of folks take opinion and/or belief and make an internal stone statue out of it. Whether they worship it is a matter for discussion but when you let something become rock solid, especially when it's wrong or short-sighted, it becomes difficult to change and change is, ironically, what mankind wishes for more than it will acknowledge. I'm using my new scanner for the first time and, unfortunately, like everything else, there are good points and bad ones. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. It's Original Jones Art has he wonders why the present seems to be constantly degrading the past in northwest Austin, Texas.

Love it Charles. Can see the influence of Dali and Hockney in this, to name only two. Very fine surrealistic art.

Artist Reply: Decades ago, I would throw in everything including the kitchen sink in my work and it's taken a long time for me to condense my imagery down to what you see now, Kevin. Is this a positive or a negative? There's usually similarity with just a touch of difference. I don't push it one way or another. I simply let it happen. Thank you for the very nice comment and compliment. :)
