Just in time for Christmas comes a rather non-traditional white elephant 'gift.' I had started this a year plus back to give as a gift, coincidentally, but didn't finish in time then. After leaving it on a shelf with other unfinished pieces, I took pity and decided to finish it. It is made of my 21st Century paper mache compound with Styrofoam, newsprint and two glass beads. I left it white, of course, but added some micro glitter for sparkle, though it is subtle. White Elephant measures 13.25 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 11 inches deep. It's more of that Original Jones Art trumpeting in northwest Austin, Texas.

great ELEPHANT'S TALE OR RATHER TAILESS ELEPHANT...LOVE IT CHARLIE--IT IS A POSITIVE PIECE AND BRINGS A SMILE TO ONE'S FACE---WE NEED MORE SMILES....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADDIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Artist Reply: Its lack of a tail was a conscious decision, Elton. Like those Buddha statues that like their belly rubbed, this piece cries out for a little backside pat. I'm glad you like it. It was two years in the making, you could say. Stay safe up there to the north. :)

Absolutely terrific sculpture Charles. Another awesome string to your bow.

Artist Reply: I consider working on these 3D projects a mingling of artistic and engineering skills, Kevin. It takes that to make some wadded newsprint and non-edible cake batter come together to make something that stands up under its own weight. Thanks for the great comment! :)
