Lake Balaton in Hungary is one of the largest European lakes, but with an average depth of 3 meters also the shallowest. It is a lake rich in fish with pure water where no motorized vessels are allowed with the exception of shuttle boats and service vessels. The Kisfaludy was the first steam-powered shuttle boat, built in 1846, as it could not count on any breakdown assistance, it was also equipped with sails. The original ship no longer exists, but a replica was built about ten years ago. Since there were no longer any plans for the ship, this was done on the basis of old images and a scale model. We spotted the ship in Kestely when it was still brand new. Image size: 260 x 360 mm
