Ironically, perhaps, I spent the blizzard week in Texas in a local hospital having doctors try to get my heart to beat normally. Over a week before my admission I had suffered alone and, like a lot of guys, stubborn and adamant that I would somehow 'cure' myself. I could have had a stroke or a full blown heart attack. Thankfully, so far this has not happened but as I begin to regain my strength I also contemplate a cocktail of drugs which costs over 700 dollars a month. How long will I need them; how long can I afford them? So I am truly 'guardedly optimistic' as I move forward. This is a 4 by 3 inches gel pen drawing made since my release Saturday. I notice my eyesight has suffered during this period so let's hope Original Jones Art will continue for awhile here in northwest Austin, Texas.

So glad you finally got to the Hospital for heart treatment and recovery from health issues! If I was there, I would check on you every day, my friend. Get your strength back up amigo!

Artist Reply: Yes, I'm reticent to conform even in ill health but I'm not sure that is a good policy for me moving (hopefully) forward. Mark, I believe you when you say you'd check up on me. THANK YOU! And, of course, try to stay healthy yourself. :)

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Another awesome sketch!

Artist Reply: Thanks for the kind words, Lucia. I'd been missing your kitty and other sweet characters. Glad to see you back. Hope you are doing great in these turbulent times. :)

Hi Charles, I'm sorry to hear this. Sending thoughts and prayers for you , May you get well.

Artist Reply: It's pretty obvious that my days of feeling immutable have passed, Dave. Mortality has always been a nagging truth for me---as it should be for all. That being said, I am not ready to throw in the towel just yet. Thanks for the kind and generous thoughts. :)

Artist Reply: Every day since release has seen some improvement. Maybe just not as fast as I would like, Marie. My sleep pattern is way off and that doesn't help either. Oh well. I thank you for your kind regards and good wishes. Most appreciated, I assure you. :)

Well things have certainly gone bad for you,I heard about the Snow storm you had in your country ,you being in Texas,Hopefully you'll have a speedy recovery.,Out here we've been under a blanket of that white stuff since September..We are looking forward to the coming of Spring,,,,,of course we understand that this kind of drop of temperatures you are definately not prepared for.,& Hopefully You'll get back on your feet,,wishing you all the best..

Artist Reply: Thanks, Al. Yes, it is definitely a case of what one is used to versus an unexpected slap to the face. You could say I've had a double whammy but I am hopeful than life will normalize---like so much of Earth's population right now. Hope you are doing well on your side of the pond. :)
