Tram G at Grimbergen station

From 1889 to 1978, a tram line ran between Brussels and Humbeek, connecting the countryside with the capital. The so-called farmer's tram ran on this line. In Grimbergen there was not only a stylish station but also a workshop where the carriages were maintained. The watercolor shows the station and a type of tram that ran from the 1930s to the 1950s. Today the tram line has been replaced by buses, the site of the then neglected station and workshops, was demolished in the 1990s and replaced by new buildings adapted to bus transport. TERRIFIC WORK MY FRIEND. THE TRAM IS SO NEAT. WOULD RATHER RIDE THE TRAM THAN A BUS.

Artist Reply: Thanks Joanie, times change. I received a book about this tramline but the photos are old and sometimes it take some imagination to reproduce
