Garden of the Gods Colorado

This is a painting of a well-known rock formations called Garden of the Gods in Colorado. It is a watercolor study that took about two days to paint and it’s done on regular paper which allows the watercolor to slip and slide rather than soaking right into the paper. Using watercolors on regular sketch paper allows the paint to behave a lot like oil paints. I got to say these studies are becoming really fun to paint.
