Hey, I thought it was a pretty good title. I had some new gel sticks delivered today and thought I would give them a try. They go on gooey and soft but dry pretty fast and are not smudgeable like oil pastels. I went with a slightly larger format because they are something like painting with lipstick. Not to say I ever have. I also used my oil-based color pencils and they mixed and mingled very well. This is an 11 by 7 inches gel stick with color pencil drawing on heavy-weight acid-free paper. Yep, you guessed it. It's Original Jones Art trying something 'new' here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Like it. Seems a little brighter using these gel sticks.

Artist Reply: Well, Ginger, it was an interesting experiment and a bit of a give and take. I had to sacrifice some of the control I'd achieved using gel pen and color pencil. But I liked some of the texture I could pull out this way. The product is 'Kingart artist mixed media gel sticks.' I bought the 24 pack for a little over $20 total. I'll play around more with them in future, I'm sure. Thanks for commenting. :)
