I went into this one a little differently. Yes, I started with gel pen but then added acrylic into the mix, finishing with color pencil. This piece measures 7 by 5.5 inches on heavy bond acid-free paper. Yes, Original Jones Art was trying to shake things a little harder today just to see what might fall out here in northwest Austin, Texas. Oh, and we went back to Stage 5 today. Now isn't that nice?

Great work as usual. Sometimes I feel a little cross eyed in today's world. Things are changing so fast, back and forth, do things this way no that way...sometimes I don't know if I'm coming or going, being cross eyes seems somewhat normal for me nowadays. Thank you for sharing your amazing art which continues to always seem to connect with how I'm feeling, and that to me is great art!

Artist Reply: Could be one eye is cross with the other, Rick. If each eye attaches to two distinct parts of the brain, that is. Yes, it can be difficult to see a sure path with so many distractions and false guideposts. One just has to acknowledge that most of it is unfit for human consumption and try to be the best person possible. You do that, and most of it looks just like the trivial garbage it is. Thank you, Rick. Hope your 'new year' is going fine so far. :)

Nice portrait charles but I would be criss cross the eyes somehow, but that me I do like your picture

Artist Reply: Well, that's an idea, Ray. Or I could have named him 'Chris, The Cross-eyed.' But, of course, I didn't. A lot of the art seen in books and museums from now defunct artists are given titles by curators in museums, not by the artists themselves. Just something to think about. Thanks! :)
