Back when I was a growing up, there were a lot of big-eyed art pieces everywhere you looked. They were usually of children and/or the pets of children. I remember cats and poodles specifically. They never appealed to me. I've never been one to confuse popularity with real substance or value. My work gets a little big in the eye area occasionally but I assure you, it is I, Original Jones Art, who creates them not a sequestered spouse. This is a 4.25 by 3 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on the last of my small scratchpad left over from my last (and I do mean last) job. What else can I say as I sit here with keyboard resting on my knees here in northwest Austin, Texas?

when i was growing i was following Picasso,Van Gogh,Winslow Homer,

Artist Reply: Well, I was raised out in the sticks, Ray. Our school library was a pretty good source but you had to know what or who you were looking for. As there were no art classes, art became just another facet of life I had to discover on my own. But like most, I had some knowledge of Picasso and Vincent, though it was a glossy overview at best. I still have a sketch of the 'Old Guitarist' I made some time in high school. As well as one of Nancy Sinatra from the cover of 'These Boots Are..." I have a tendency to hang on to things. :)
