This character fairly oozes naivete and sweet optimism. I seem to remember a lad who fit that description in the early 70's, a guy who carried an alto recorder slung over his shoulder and wrote hopeful poetry and sang his songs to the moon. I guess we'll never see his like again. Maybe we never saw him at all? This is a 7.5 by 5.25 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil and spot or two of white acrylic paint marker. Yeah, Original Jones Art is digging out the 'old stuff' here in northwest Austin, Texas.

I agree with Mr Steele and don't forget we're all here for you in the "drawing" room : )

Artist Reply: Houses used to have 'drawing rooms' as I recall. Did folks really draw in them, I wonder? And 'sitting rooms' too. Those days are long gone. In the days before there were TV's and gadgets, folks probably had a music room where they all gathered around a piano and sang too. Folks were probably closer to one another then. Our gadgets separate us from our brethren, I think. Social media? Nah, not really. ') Thanks, Dave!

Artist Reply: Thanks, Ray! I'm doing okay, I think. It's just disconcerting to be less than not equal to my old self and no way, I can see, to change that. But being the stubborn 'cuss I am, I'll probably be dead days before I stop crawling around. Ha. Yeah, my sense of humor IS an acquired taste. :)
