This was another one of those experiments I sometimes do. I found a pastel pad I'd had for years and decided to play with those gel sticks I bought a while back. I'd used them once to good effect and thought I'd see how they did using the textured paper. Just so you know, the gel sticks are blendable for a short time and then dry. But you can use a brush and re-wet them even after they dry to smooth them out. I also used the newer oil-based color pencils.. Anyway, at 12 by 8.75 inches its the largest paper piece I've done for quite a spell. I thought it came well enough to share. Well, that's Original Jones Art's story and he's sticking to it here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Very cool ! love the texture , and the gel sticks work well with your style . Been wanting to try those oil pencils . Maybe after I get situated after my move. Hope all going well for you, Charles : ) You're a constant source of inspiration.

Artist Reply: More texture than I'm used to, Dave, but it worked out okay. I 'slicked down' the sky a bit more with water but left off there. Folks actually see a piece of art better on the interest than they would close up and personal---if the scan or photo is done well and is truthful to the original, which isn't always the case. I looked up a Miro painting once and found lots of pics but in each one the colors were different. :)

Look like redhead has a receiving hairline Lol

Artist Reply: For yours-truly, that ship has not only left the harbor but sank off the coast of Italy circa 1998. I 'think' the word you meant, Ray, was 'receding' which means retreating in some instances. Thanks and hope all is going good for you today. :)
