It was a day so quiet you could hear the blood coursing through your body. And there was a promise of rain but only the humidity was given as a poor substitute. It's April, the rainy month, but we've had little here. My first time mowing the lawn, I was almost blinded by the dust. I don't know if any or all of this contributed to this piece but I could give it no other name. This is a 7 by 5.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. It's Original Jones Art doing his usual thing here in the northwest suburbs of Austin, Texas.

I know this look, especially since I’m recovering from surgery! You nailed the look on his face,… the dark, dreary background and allowed us to look into your dust bowl life, when mowing your lawn. I pray you get more water in the months to come!

Artist Reply: I hope the surgery went well and is healing at a good rate of speed, Mark. Since I uploaded this, we've received one spotty middle of the night rain which was over and dry by sunrise. So we'll see how the world fares, my small corner of it also, in the coming months.

Like the lines on the face and the night time background .A ponderous lonesome expression as well , Charles . Thumbs up to the weary man : )

Artist Reply: Thanks, Dave! To get that night sky, I have to almost empty a pen even making a drawing this small. But I like how that darkness makes other elements pop out. :)
