I've been looking through old portfolios and found this piece which was designed to be an illustration for a University of Texas publication called Analecta. I was in several annual issues while I attended school there. The Time of Poem was a long poem and what you see here is an excerpt. This dates back to the mid-70's, BTW. I was 'The Poetry Man' back then and my visual art took a back seat. The image area here measures 7.5 by 5 inches and I used just a regular pen from the look of it, though it has held up very well. It hasn't been subjected to much light for all the decades it has existed, shall we say? This is Original Jones Art waxing his nostalgia to remove dust and tarnish here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Artist Reply: Thanks, Ray! Yeah, I've been around the block several times. Sort of Indy 500 without the speed, the women and the excitement. Yeah, I'll stick with that. :)
