I don't know how anyone can help but have a troubled mind to some degree. Or are most of us so caught up in the rat race that we no longer look around? Or do we pretend we are not part of it ourselves? Sometimes I wonder how some tragedies continue to occur when we should all know better since we've seen and read about it any number of times. This is a 6.5 by 4.75 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on heavy weight acid-free paper. Yes, Original Jones Art is still here in northwest Austin, Texas. For how much longer, I cannot, in truth, say.

I share in your sentiment Charles but I have to say there was never a time when tragedies didn't occur. As a kid growing up in the 60's , I was scared and horrified to the bone with all the assassinations and war. And I thought that things could only get better with the summer of love . people coming together , peace, love and becoming more socially aware.. Boy was I ever wrong. At least you have compassion which is a hallmark of being truly human. I like this one a lot . Cool puzzle like background too : )

Artist Reply: Yes, tragedies are nothing new, Dave. But I don't ever remember, as a kid, too many social events wherein an individual took it upon himself to shoot as many random individuals as possible. Now I did 'experience' those you refer to as well as the UT Tower shootings and I watched Lee Harvey Oswald shot 'live' on TV. But we are now seeing similar mindless murderous events on an almost daily basis. And, yes, we are still witnesses to the brutality of war. People are shooting people for putting mayo on their sandwich by mistake or for driving stupidly. There is a disconnect in the hearts and minds of many people who do not see that we are all intrinsically connected, who do not see us as one and the same. Anyway, don't get me started. Ha! I think you DID. Thanks, Dave!
