In the villages in the south of the Spanish interior, usually located on a hill or against the mountain slopes, it can get terribly hot in the summer. Days in a row temperatures above 40°C are no exception. Entire villages are painted white to protect themselves against the heat, as a reflection against the sun, so that good sunglasses are not an unnecessary luxury for those who want to go for a walk.
