David Grove and Cliff Spohn pioneered an acrylic wash technique in illustration that swept the country about thirty years ago. I was a student of their work and aspired to create memorable works of art in this same technique. Within the year, my style evolved again and I began searching for my own style and technique. Perhaps this is a never ending journey for an artist, to find something unique and different that separates their art from hundreds of thousands of highly competent artists in the same field. I honor these two artists as the originators of this style.
