Ade,is one of the blokes I work with,he saw me doing "The Dual" and asked if I would do a portrait of him, didn't realise how hard it would be.Had to do a compleatly differant technique and style, think it worked though. The people who have seen it say I have captured him well. I leave it to my peers on AW to rate and comment on.I leave it to you.

Kevin, I think this works as it is. However, I may have chosen to push the darks more relative to the highlights. Additionally, I think you used wonderful detail and shadowing around the eyes and nose, but some of the other parts of the head seem a bit papery to me. I would go back into them and work them a bit more. One last thing. I think the line that defines the nose is a bit strong. You could achieve a more natural look allowing the background shadow to define the nose more than a line. It takes a mostly realistic image and renders it a bit cartoony. I hope you don't mind the critique. It seems you were looking for some direction from your comment. The background of the image works well to define the shape of the face and make it more three dimensional. Something similar, however probably less dramatic would work to define the nose as well. Ari

Looks pretty good to me Kev...well done my friend.

Artist Reply: Thanks Cynth, have been in Arnhem for the 62nd anniversary these last few days,so soory it took so long to get back to you. Managed to do what I've always wanted to do and that's to parachute from a Dakota onto the same DZ as they did origanaly. Not a good jump ,got injured and spent 2 days in hospital, but did manage to walk away, only just.Badly bruised pelvis and hip, feel as though been kicked by a donkey.
