This is the Mevlana Monastery which is now a museum located in Konya. Celaleddin Rumi was the founder of the Mevlana Dervish Sect. His followers developed a ritual of dancing in which they spun for long periods of time. They are known as the whirling dervishes. I was struck by the contrast of the neutral colors of the architecture and the bright color of the ceramic tiles that cover the minneret in the background. I waited several minutes for the tourists passing by to get out of my shot, but managed to include this single woman. I think it completes the picture.
