Soft coral (non-reef building) are just that... litterally soft. The individual animals live on the water-filled stalk and feed on plankton. The colony is able to 'inflate' the 'trunk' with water in order to project itself out into current. Some of these 'trees' are over six feet in stature. Loloata Island, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Enjoy!
