I met this mom and her little girl on the beach last summer in Maine. It was the perfect time of day and they even wore coordinated clothing, so it was just a matter of catching the right pose. I think this painting says quite a bit and I was anxious to complete it. I chose to add some elements, like the rocks to make for a more interesting composition.
