This is the ceiling of the famous Baptistery near the Duomo in Florence. The images here were all created in mosaic from the 13th to the 15th century. Dante Alighieri was baptized here and the many scenes of the tortures of hell were an inspiration for his poetry. Also, most of the Medici family was baptized here. There wasn't enough light to get a good hand-held image, so I put my timer on and placed my camera on the floor of the baptistery. Out of the several tries this one was interesting to me.
