24" x 24" acrylic on board. done onsite in the very early spring. A nesting area for egrets in a marshy bog close to my house. I thought they were paper bags sitting atop bushes to keep the frost away when I remembered there isn't any frost down here! upon closer examination I realized they were sleeping birds..grabbed some paint and a board and hiked in with a friend.

Artist Reply: thank you jeremy. This was done onsite near where i used to live. I think it's one of the largest egret rookeries in the area. Beaufort, S.C.
