Eye to Eye

THIS IS NOT A TRICK PHOTO. THE TIGER IS IN A GLASS ENCLOSURE AT THE POTOWATAMI PARK ZOO IN SOUTH BEND, IN. THE CHILD AND THE TIGER SEEMED EQUALLY FASCINATED WITH EACH OTHER. THE TIGER ACTUALLY TRIED TO LICK THE LITTLE BOY! THE BOY, ON THE OTHER HAND, WAS NOT ONE BIT AFRAID, BUT JUST STOOD THERE MESMERIZED BY THE TIGER.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS MAKING THE TIGER AND CHILD NUMBER 1 IN ALL GALLERIES ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2007! MUCH APPRECIATED!

This photo placed first in the Delaware Photographic Society's Class A print competition "Assigned Subject" category on October 8, 2007. The assigned subject was "People in Their Environment."

The tigers look is precious. It doesn't appear threatening toward the child but rather concerned or motherly. Very cool capture!
