Autumn Garden

This is a painting I did of some of the last of a Autumn garden. I had stopped last week to take some photos of this garden for reference photos for paintings. I went by it again yesterday, and they had already taken out all the beds to prepare for winter. Myself, if it was in my garden would have cherished it to the last boom, harvesting the seeds. This is to celebrate the last hurrah of blossoms before it gets too cold for outdoor flowers. A lovely little mixture of colors and blossoms. I painted this digitally using my electronics graphics tablet, a Wacom, and it's wireless stylus pen. I used Corel's art software, Painter X. This is not a photo manipulation, not photoshopped, or from an auto convert to art effect. I had to draw & paint it, every bit. Instead of real paper and brushes, I use electronic ones. You can't don't this with a mouse, you need the stylus pen that you hold like a pencil, brush, etc. You chose the colors, the brushes, the mediums, the strokes are yours. You decide everything, and then you just move the pen across the tablet, tapping and stroking as you need. Quite fun, no messes, no dry time, no clean up. I'm not allergic to any of it either, as I am with many traditional mediums. I still do some traditional works at times, but really enjoy the freedom that the Wacom enables me to have, the challenges of trying new ideas, techniques, mixing mediums such as watercolors and oils, than blending in with chalks to create new effects and results I couldn't do with real mediums. I love both real and digital art, and hope you do as well. So many advances are on the way, I can hardly stand it! LOL!

Terry, your work is always refreshing, and gorgeous!

Artist Reply: Thank you Carliss! I enjoy painting so much, that my moods flow into the work. I never seem to get bored with it or lack for subjects to paint.

Absolute brilliant and what a great image you can do with that Wacom. I couldn't be without mine for a day. Great work and magnificent detail. Wonderful, Terry. Michael

Artist Reply: Thanks Micheal so much! I know what joy the Wacom art can bring one, it is a gift for the creative soul for sure.
