Gooseberry Falls State Park is located in northern Minnesota along the shore of Lake Superior, one of the largest fresh water lakes in the world. There are also lots of rivers in this area. This one, Gooseberry River, is raging down through granite rock walls to reach Lake Superior. The foam pools form in the eddies of the river, which always has this rootbeer brown color to it.
