Old Kettle

I spotted an old kettle at a family members' home. I loved that it had a cool rusty surface. I did this still life for a color study, and like the results Igot usig my Wacom tablet & stylus (electronic graphics drawing tablet). I used Corel's Painter X art software to paint this work.

this looks amazing Terry..... time is standing still

Artist Reply: Thanks Blue Doll! I love old pots and pans, and kitchenware. My husband laughs when I buy odd kizmos for my china cabinet. Some old cherry pitters, kettles, and such were great back then and still designed better than modern day items. I got a lead on where to buy an identical kettle like this so am going to try to get it.

Terry, this is just fantastic painting. Your work just keeps getting more and more brilliant showing you exquisite talent. Stunning painting. Michael

Artist Reply: Thank you Miguel! I like variety and trying new subjects as well as mediums. I happen to spot it out in the garden and loved it. Looking to find one for my own garden. This one would even be usable still, if you clean it up a bit. A raw potato takes off rust quickly off of old cast iron. Still the rust has it's colorful charm that adds to the character of the ketlte.
