A beach has always represented to me a place of leisure, and a place to relish in the experiences of some of your senses- feeling the sand under/on your feet and hands, feeling the wetness of the water when wading or swimming, seeing fellow beachgoers, seeing and hearing the water waves. My intention was to make the sand on the beach appear as realistic looking as possible. I hope that I have succeeded in the viewer's eyes. This digital painting of The Beach that I created takes me back to visualizing Chesapeake Beach in Maryland, where I always enjoyed visiting with my family every summer when I was a child.
