Artist Reply: Yes...I'd say about 95% from life. I had taken a photo the first day she sat. Poses tend to change no matter how hard you work. Also, I'm painting in a group...so there are many opinions as to what is the correct pose. So, I used my photo to keep me from editing my painting one I was pleased with the drawing. Then I used the photo to hone the fine details because I was standing 5 meters away from her. But, yes it was from life.
